The open-air Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen revives the stories of people who lived on the shores of the Zuiderzee. See, hear, taste and smell everyday life around the Zuiderzee as it was before the Afsluitdijk Barrier Dam changed the sea into the lake IJsselmeer in 1932.
The Museum welcomes about 300.000 visitors each year. On site there are restaurants, picnic areas and shops. The admission fee includes a short boat trip from the parking to the site. Guides are available at competitive rates.

Besides being a very interesting museum at the shores of lake Ijsselmeer, where your guests can experience the Dutch Maritime history, we also try to keep the industry posted with news about our area and town. On top of this we lobby in the community and politics, both local and regional, by promoting the industry as an important economic and social factor our region.
